A Gift to the September 11 Memorial Museum

Betty Nielsen and FF Lee Ielpi

Freedom Quilters

On October 23, 2007 Freedom Quilts, Inc. presented the September 11th Memorial Museum with one of our five original quilts that started this project. Former Governor George Pataki from New York City traveled to Iowa for the event and thanked all those who helped to bring comfort to the 9/11 families. To date, Freedom Quilts has given over 5,70 quilts to families of 9/11 and fallen soldiers families.

The first photo is of Betty Nielsen Founder of Freedom Quilts and Lee Ielpi, President of the Sept 11th Families Association. Lee lost his son, Jonathan L. Ielpi. In the second photo are some of our Freedom Quilters: Wes, Helen, Beulah, Jan Ramirez Curator of the Museum, Betty founder of Freedom Quilts, Jan, Lolly, Linda, and Betty's two granddaughters.

Holiday

The holidays are here, and it is time to reflect on families and friends. But please do not forget those who have lost a love one, for they need our love and support.
